Our History

MIG operated out of six facilities located in three cities in Tennessee. It occupied 1.3 million square feet of floor space in total. MIG currently employS 1,800 team members in Lexington, Chattanooga and Athens.

1998

MIG was established by Mr. Oliver Isaacs, with partners Dick Habib, Andre Gist and John Zardis in 1998. MIG has become the largest minority owned business in Tennessee. Andre and John acquired 100% ownership of the company in 2002 with Andre becoming Chief Executive Officer.

2004

In 2004 MIG-Visteon Automotive Systems, LLC was formed with Visteon Corporation. This Joint Venture produced cockpit modules for the Nissan Frontier, Xterra, and Pathfinder. The assembly was conducted inside the Nissan Manufacturing Facility in Smyrna, Tennessee through 2008.

2007

In 2007 MIG purchased the Johnson Controls 234,000 square feet mechanism facility in Lexington, Tennessee. This acquisition added power adjusters and recliners to its catalog of products and fine blanking and roll forming process capabilities. MIG developed a metal fabrication division and spun – off MIG Steel Fabrication, LLC. Here structural steel and miscellaneous metals are fabricated for the construction industry.

2008

In 2008 the supplier Modern Industries was acquired from Leggett & Platt Incorporation and renamed MIG Wire & Tube LLC. This added wire forming and tube bending capability to MIG’s resume.

OUR MISSION

Manufacturers Industrial Group (MIG) was a full service contract manufacturer primarily in automotive seating subassemblies, components and hardware. MIG was recognized as one of the best suppliers in robotic and automated GMAW and resistance welding supplying over 51% off all automotive parts seats for North America. It’s expertise was in reviewing  product specifications and developing manufacturing processes to produce the product in the most efficient manner while insuring world-class quality.

MIG’s products included manual seat adjusters, welded assemblies, metal stampings, fine blankings, formed wire and bent tube and other light assemblies. The customer base includes Johnson Controls, Lear Seating, Intier Automotive, ARJ Manufacturing, Faurecia, TS Tech, and Toyota Boshoku.
